Caleb University to host HR, journalism conferences

Caleb University, Lagos, has concluded plans to host two major conferences aimed at addressing critical issues in Nigeria's human resource and media sectors. The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, announced this at a press conference held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the institution’s City Campus, Magodo, Lagos. He said the initiatives were designed to promote innovation, resilience, and sustainable development in both professions. The first event, the "Journalism Outlook Conference 2026," slated for July 20 at the University main campus in Imota with the theme "Reinventing Local Newspapers in the Digital Age: Innovation, Sustainability, and Global Community Impact,” will bring together media practitioners, scholars, policymakers, technology experts, and journalism students to discuss strategies for strengthening Nigeria's newspaper industry in the digital era. The conference, organised in partnership with the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ), the Newspaper Proprietors' Association of Nigeria (NPAN), and the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) will feature Norwegian media expert, Kirsten Marie Myklebust, as the lead facilitator.
